A Dream Play under New York City

A Film Produced and Directed by Miru Kim
Based on A Dream Play directed by Daniel Harray

In August Strindberg's A Dream Play, a goddess called Agnes descends to earth and attempts to fathom what it means to be human. Agnes is a curious innocent who finds herself beset by a menagerie of often absurd characters. Through her journey, we experience a shared lucid dream (sometimes bordering on becoming a nightmare) that ultimately champions compassion for all, and exhorts us to seek beauty where we least expect it. This adaptation / workshop production of A Dream Play aims to distill and amplify Strindberg's message within the framework of Miru Kim's aesthetic.
